Rebel printer

Printers are a culprit of  Planned obsilence. Society has structured our society and our devices , for promotion of the economy , mass consumption. I find this rather disturbing as it in a way makes objects control us unconsciously. Ex the lamp bulb their life span has dramatically decreased from the begging of the 1920’s . For the increase in their consumption.

I would say that even the layout of our society , and the way its formed and functions has a greater impact on us. Through functionality of day to day objects to the lay out of citys. Again coming to the realization  that we are unconsciously controlled through our sorrowing and society that we live in.

I would say were controlled by the media forms and functions , so on. It makes me question our so called freedom and is it existent? as we think it is , because the more and more I learn about our society and the way it functions why it functions so on. I come to the greater understanding that are freedom is limited and has many constraints that we are actually blinded by.

Through my piece ‘rebel printer’ I wanted to bring awareness to this. I gave the printer a voice , It says ‘hey my name is hp desk jet 30069… I am a bi product of planned obsalasence I promote the mass consumer society through my self made perceptibility to malfunction I am reeling look at what I’m printing learn from it this objects function in their un functionality or they break the banality of day to day objects bringing awareness to banality and functionality of day to day objects they allow you to look at things in a different way they provide and provoke originality I believe functionality created originality I think society controls us through functionality as much as it dose for planned obsalesance I’m speaking up for my kind I am an activist I say break the function fuck the function I thank Jemima sieff for giving me the chance to speak up fro what I believe in’
